Globally Recognized Photovoltaic Standards
IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 are authoritative international standards for photovoltaic product performance and safety, established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). They have become the most widely recognized and applied standards for industrial photovoltaic products globally.
IEC 61215 is the international standard for solar photovoltaic module performance testing. It covers tests such as temperature coefficients, low irradiance, hot-spot endurance, UV pre-treatment, thermal cycling, damp heat, humidity freeze, mechanical load, and hail impact to verify the electrical performance, reliability, and stability of the modules.
IEC 61730 is the international standard for the safety testing of solar photovoltaic modules, focusing on the structural safety of the modules. The testing scope includes visual inspection, electric shock, fire hazards, mechanical stress, and environmental stress.
